The Tunnel Museum, the old&new tradition
After three years from its opening, the Tunnel Mining Museum is a faithful witness to the history of one of the main economic activities of the state.
The infrastructure --whose innovation is to be underground and simulate a real mine corridor-- has several attachments that mining companies themselves have donated for the collection.
This space has a length of 280 linear meters, with access to the square of the Archbishop and Plaza de Armas, counting as two underground blocks on November 20th Avenue.
The Mining Museum, honors an activity that was basic for the foundation of Durango and several towns from the state, hence the decision to fill a space with the vestiges of mineral extraction, an economic activity that continues today.
Along with Francisco Villa Museum, Paseo Constitution, the telpher way and the Mirador, this infrastructure is one of the main tourist attractions promoted by the Government of Durango.
The exhibition is open to the public Tuesday through Sunday and is suitable for the whole family.
